Melting Ice Experiment

We enjoyed doing a special science experiment with Mr. Musselman from the Burlington Science Center this week.  He helped us investigate and observe what happens to ice cubes when they are in the sun and shade.  We lucked out with a beautiful day and discovered that the temperature was much cooler in the shade and that the ice didn't melt nearly as quickly there.  Mr. Musselman will be visiting again next week to help students with an engineering project where they will be designing a structure meant to protect a Popsicle from melting in the sun.  I'll be sure to include a post next week to let you know how it goes!
