Room 115 had a special guest visitor today! Mrs. McDonald taught a fun lesson that had the students thinking, freezing, listening, fidgeting, dancing, and writing! It certainly was a fun way to end a busy week! Mrs. McDonald read the book called, Don't Fidget a Feather by Erica Silverman. It's about a duck and a gander who are competitively trying to become the Champion of all Champions. Their final challenge is to see which one can hold perfectly still and not "fidget a feather" the longest. By the end of the story, both face grave danger because they refuse to move until at the last moment, the duck sacrifices the Champion title to save his friend...becoming the real Champion. The students were glued to each page! Mrs. McDonald and the students did their own freeze challenge, dancing to the music and freezing each time the music stopped! They finished the lesson by making either the duck or the gander and writing a descriptive sentence about the one they chose. Thank you Mrs. McDonald for visiting our classroom and preparing such a fun lesson!
